The jungle trek
Enjoy your breakfast in the privacy of your own lodgings on the open air terrace overlooking the jungle. We will pick you up at 9:30 for a short drive up the small winding mountain road, to our horse ranch and ecological self sustainable permaculture farm Kindred Spirits. Here we will take the time for you to know your horses and connect with them. This is very important, as it makes for a better ride for both you and your horse. With time your connection will deepen and so will your peace and happiness of living in the moment with your horse. A few stretches for both horse & rider, to relax and warm the muscles, in preparation for todays trek into the mountains! The little dirt roads wind in and out of the jungle, with the trees towering overhead. The sounds of birds, frogs, cicadas fill the air. Now and then a light jungle breeze, moving the leaves over head, a giant iguana looking down from above, the curious look of a little monkey hidden in the branches. Your guide will show you the wonders of the jungle. Learn about tropical plants and their medicinal use. Which ones are used as mosquito repellant and to relieve the itch, others to help with insomnia, headaches and sun burn. All these moments precious and part of the daily life here in the jungle. As we meander through these roads and paths, you will notice how time slows down, your breath slows and you loose all expectations, just enjoying, as life unfolds before you. Then we head back where a healthy delicious organic lunch of fresh salads, specialities and breads served with a tropical juice from the garden, await.
