Kindred Spirits is first and foremost a school for Yoga & Horse Healing Arts. Our accommodations exist to support that work, not to replicate a resort experience.

We are located in Montaña Cósmica, a quiet jungle hilltop community 2 km from the Caribbean Sea, surrounded by jungle, permaculture gardens, and horses. Here you will find stillness, birdsong, tropical rain, and the rhythms of the land.

You will also find simplicity.

If you are seeking hotel-style luxury, daily housekeeping, or curated resort amenities, this may not be the right environment.

If you are seeking depth, presence, and a grounded connection to nature, you will feel at home.

Our Lodge is designed for retreat and training participants.

Before You Book Considerations

We want you to feel deeply nourished here.
We also want you to arrive with clarity so your expectations meet the true rhythm of life at Kindred Spirits.

  • Kindred Spirits is a small, intentional school rooted in yoga, horsemanship, and ecological living.

    Our accommodations are clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully cared for, but also simple. We are not a resort with daily turndown service or constant housekeeping. We are a living community in the jungle, dedicated to depth of experience rather than hotel-style luxury.

    If you are seeking meaningful connection, embodied practice, and time in nature, you will feel at home.

  • Life here is alive.

    You will wake to birdsong, fall asleep to jungle rhythms, and witness shifting light through trees. The air is tropical. The rain is sometimes sudden and beautiful. The earth is fertile and vibrant.

    Being in the jungle means being in a living ecosystem and that is part of the experience. We consider it a privilege to live and practice here.

  • Our water comes from the land.

    We use well water that has been professionally tested for purity, and the main reservoir is filtered. It is mineral-rich, clean, and safe to drink.

    We do not encourage bottled water unless someone has a particularly sensitive system adjusting to a new climate. In heavy rainy seasons, if mineral levels temporarily make the water cloudy, we provide bottled water during that period.

  • Towels, linens, and housekeeping are refreshed weekly.

    If you require additional changes during your stay, simply let us know and we will do our best to accommodate.

    We aim to balance comfort with environmental responsibility.

  • Kindred Spirits is an active, embodied environment.

    You will move between spaces independently, participate in outdoor sessions, and engage fully in the rhythm of the day.

    This is not a passive retreat. It is a lived experience.

  • Kindred Spirits tends to be a good fit for guests who:

  • We primarily host retreats and trainings. Limited availability exists for independent stays combined with private healing or equine sessions. But we do have many dates available so please reach out to explore current openings.

Treevana, private tree houses.

    Permaculture Edible Gardens.

    The community as a whole believes in nurturing and safe guarding the land. Ricky and Lori at Treevana have planted many tropical edible herbs, fruits and greens to savor the local nature.

    Casa Madre.

    The central spot in Treevana is Casa Madre where you can meet other guests, enjoy the pool, read, play games and enjoy the jungle views.

    All tree houses and wood art you see at Treevana was made by Ricky and his brother Renny, with the vision and direction of Lori guiding their efforts.
