Peace, Joy and Spiritual Fulfillment

Every human being, no matter who, wants to be happy and know love.  I do, you do,(at least I hope you do!) even the bad guy who robs his neighbour. We humans devise so many ways to achieve this, but rarely succeed and if so ,only for awhile. Why is this so? One thing for sure  is if we keep looking for happiness in the same places,  keep doing the same things to get it and don't feel happy, then we need to CHANGE, change something in our lives, the way we do things, the way we see things and the way we interact with our surroundings. I don't mean running away, our baggage will follow us. But, at first taking a tiny step in another direction, or a gigantic one if we are courageous. Sometimes its the smallest ones that make the biggest of differences. One is how we treat others. Just taking a little extra time with the people and the animals we know, meet and are around with. Truly a little caring ,a little attention goes a long way. They will feel better and you will feel better.

When my clients arrive at our hotel, they often come with all the baggage (not just literally!) from their lives, work and stress they have left behind. Sometimes they are negative, complaining, in a hurry. I am always amazed at how just a little attention, a kind word or gesture, a smile and a little help will change their energy into a more relaxed and positive one. Now not everyone is so easy and accommodating,(I wish!) and sometimes there is just nothing you can do, they will arrive unhappy, leave unhappy, pass their whole vacation they saved up all year for, being unhappy and then go home unhappy. How sad that they wasted not only their money and energy, but all the time they could have been picking up on the good positive vibes, changing their lives into a more positive power and attracting more of that as they go. Remember don't miss those opportunities to just enjoy the moment, the people, the nature, the animals, make the necessary change to do it, the willingness to do and be different.

I am far from perfect (well almost!LOL) life's trials and boring daily routines all get to me too. Money stress, business stress, shopping stress, cooking stress, washing stress, telephone stress, school stress, email stress and SLOW Internet stress can drive me into a frenzy of stress. We just can't avoid it, no matter how much we try (and I try!)

So what do I do to "runaway" from all of this? I take a deep breath (slap myself in the face if necessary for a wake up call) and ask myself what on earth am I doing this all for and why am I getting myself in such a state, and being grumpy with my kids and my beloved animals. My stress is not going to change anything at all ,for the good, for me, for others, nobody.

So these are the things I do, so simple, but it truly works every time. Yoga!  A walk on the beach with the dogs! A ride in the jungle on my horse! I remember how beautiful and well and happy are my children (most of the times anyways!) A glass of wine as the sun sets(hmmm, gotta say, I love that one). A big bowl of ice-cream, I loooove ice-cream! If I am truly in a rut, I call my good friend Nancy (it works both ways) and we talk it out, laugh and life goes on. Family, friends, animal friends, yoga, riding, meditation, a glass of good wine and a big bowl of ice-cream (don't do it all at once, you might get a bit queezy, not sure queezy is a real word, Lexi my daughter will roll her eyes when she sees this one! You see I invent words when I can't find the right one, and then with French and Spanish I can really go crazy with new words! My daughter just doesn't get it! She's the smart one and she knows it, like living with my teacher, she corrects me ALL the time.

My simple little advice, don't let life become overwhelming ( I know, easier said than done), take the Buddha approach, let things be, stay in the moment and look at all you have, your health, your children, your animals, the nature and beauty around you and be grateful, be happy, you truly don't need more.

I would love to hear from anyone else, their magic tricks to peace, happiness & joy (I know, it sounds sooo cliche, but lets be honest, its what we all want)

What do you do, that grounds you, relaxes you, makes you happy and love everybody?

Have a peaceful and joyful day!
